Efficient snow management

Take control of the snow depth across your entire venue by installing our snow depth gauges on your grooming machinery. Snow depth gauges give you real time information on how deep the snow is at your center with the aid of GPS technology.

Knowing exactly how deep the snow is everywhere dramatically improves your efficiency in snow making. Firstly you only need to make snow where it is genuinely needed and secondly your personnel can focus on the right things and so achieve far more each working day.

The snow depth is displayed directly on screen in Areco's Supersnow application, which also gives you a complete picture of conditions throughout your site.

We list just a few of the numerous advantages below:

  • Make the right amount of snow; reduce energy and water consumption.
  • Reduce the need to move snow - lay the snow in the right place from the start.
  • Move snow more efficiently Where should we take snow from, and where should we put it?
  • Keep snow quality high
  • Extend the current season.
  • Plan for next season with knowledge from last season.
  • Reduce time consuming manual input and reporting of snow depths
  • Document snow depth in competitions to avoid legal repercussions.
  • No summer calibration necessary, the technology enables you to measure anywhere and with more accurate results than GPS RTK technology.

Work instructions

The map on the screen in the grooming machinery displays data linked to positions necessary in order to plan, perform and report daily work.

The map displays clear work instructions to the grooming machinery operator and the order in which these are to be done. The operator is also warned of fixed obstacles buried beneath the snow.

  • Perform work instructions in the right order
  • Eliminate forgotten or incorrectly performed work instructions - reduce the need for checking and correcting.
  • Notify the grooming machinery operator of what is to be done: should snow be laid on the slopes or not? Is more snow needed? Are there sections of snow that need to be moved? Do fan guns, fencing, signs, poles or mattresses need to be moved?
  • Provide information on current Fun park and conference activities.
  • Avoid duplication.
You can have more effective meetings by printing out lists with work instructions to grooming machinery operators and other personnel.
Reporting of e.g. snow depth, work carried out, causes of problems, statistics etc. is automatically reported back to the team leader. Correct and in real time, obviously.

Position of vehicles

The GPS system not only keeps track of where tapping stations, lances, canons etc., are - it also shows you where the other grooming machines are.

  • Locate grooming machinery easily in an emergency situation.
  • Simplify grooming machinery helping each other.
  • Simplify service if equipment breaks down, position and diagnosis.

Avoid costly mistakes

It is not easy to avoid driving over and damaging pipework, tapping stations etc. with big heavy grooming machinery. If you also do not know how deep the snow is, and a snow storm is blowing accidents can easily happen.
Everything becomes easier if you are sitting in a grooming machinery cab with a display that shows exactly where pipes run, and how deep they are.

  • Spot or avoid driving over and damaging e.g. tapping stations.
  • Simplify navigation in bad weather.
