The tests also proved that Areco had also succeeded in its determination to deliver the most energy efficient snow production.

The test at Lech shows that Areco SuperSnow not only produces the most snow, but also that the snow quality is higher - the weight per cubic meter of snow is low and the snow temperature lower than its competitors.
The graph shows the amount of snow that Areco SuperSnow produces compared to two competitors. These tests were carried out at around -5° C.

Below an illustration showing the snow amount and coverage. The amounts show the measured snow production in centimeters at different distances from the fan gun.
The test was carried out at a wet-bulb temperature of approximately -5° C at the independent tests in Lech.

More power using less power

Areco's SuperSnow is one of the most energy efficient fan guns out there. But to be honest, you might be able to find a fan gun or two that actually consumes less energy than ours per hour. But when looking at how much snow is actually produced per kWh, competitors have a tough time keeping up.

The chart above represents the total energy consumption, including fan and the pump, but without the compressor. The wet-bulb temperature was approximately -5° C.
All values have been measured in controlled and independent tests at Lech/Arlberg.
