Better use of operating hours

As the snow gun itself knows when it's time to start and stop the snow production, the number of operating hours are minimized. The gun is running without cause, instead it effectively makes use of the weather window that is most favorable during a day. Areco has also integrated a unique GPS-based snow depth gauge, so you always know exactly when, where and how much snow to be added. The overview is total and the guns only used when really needed. Of course this also reduces water and energy consumption making it environmentally friendly.

Less resource consumption

The consumption of electricity decreases sharply as the automatic system makes sure the snow amount and quality is optimized throughout operating timeframe. As most of the Areco snow guns are equipped with compressors there is no need for air to be transported around the ski resort. A facility to compress the air consumes large amounts of electricity during a season and the miles of piping often requires regular leak inspections.
As it is easy to produce dry and light snow with Areco snow guns, you will use less water than if the snow produced is wet. The excess water in the wet snow means lower snow quality and this water literally runs off through the snow. It requires large amounts of energy to pump out the excess water to the gun.

A few water pumps used heavily is more energy-efficient than many pumps going at half speed. Therefore Areco dimension to your actual needs. If you over time need more pump-power, we leave room for it in our solution. The water flow is regulated automatically by the snow system. The system is filled and drained via the remote control when the need is relevant. Pressure increase and decrease is only done when needed, providing a more energy-efficient processing.

Less manhours

As the snow gun automatically produces optimal snow quality and snow amount, your staff no longer need to manually monitor and adjust the gun. When using manual equipment, personnel must move around and adjust the snow guns as soon as the weather changes. Otherwise the risk is that, for example, wet snow is shot out on the slopes. The same goes as the system is automatically drained. The number of man hours are dramatically reduced with an automated system.
